Path to Work Permit Needs Correct Information
I am a registered employee in a company manufacturing medical devices in Istanbul. As of the day I started work, my work permit and insurance were issued by our company. I learned from my accountant that my work permit application process has come to an extension period since I have completed 1 year. Since these processes were handled by our employer or our accountant, I had no knowledge of how to proceed. I searched on what needs to be done, but I could not access healthy information due to Turkish tests. For this reason, I decided to contact the MUDEM-Worker Support Center, which I had previously applied through their website and whose phone number registered in my directory. I sent a message via WhatsApp. They gave me a call quickly. I explained my situation to them in my mother tongue, Arabic. I explained that my work permit will expire soon, that I continue to work in the same workshop and that our accountant is not competent in extending and renewing work permits. Furthermore I kindly asked them to discuss the case with my accountant. Worker Support Center consultant made a phone call with my accountant on the same day and gave detailed information about the work permit renewal and extension process for Syrians under Temporary Protection. My accountant being informed renewed my work permit through the system as soon as I hung up the phone. I am currently working with a renewed work permit.
